Dear Podcasters & Influencers,
Have you ever wanted to be part of something bigger than yourself? To make a real difference in the lives of others?
For over 11 years, that's what Podcaters' Hangout family member and contributor Shawn Smith and his wife have done through their Mission work in villages of Guatemala. These villages house children and their families who live in extreme poverty - many of these individuals living on less than $1.25 per day in wages.
Because of this, their living conditions are unlike anything you or I are used to. They live in one-room houses made of corrugated metal, thatched corn-stalks, cinder block and dirt. They live without any running water, and they even cook over open flames. Even worse, because it rains so much in Guatemala, they have to cook over these campfires, inside their homes.
This creates very unsafe living conditions as the smoke and soot have nowhere to escape. This is just one of the challenges that the beautiful families living in these villages in Guatemala have to face.
That's why we're hosting Podcasters' Week: To dramatically help these families... and you're invited.
What Is Podcasters' Week?
Podcaster’s Week is a week-long mission trip to Guatemala, hosted by NowIsTheTimeForMissions.com, especially designed for Podcasters and their families, friends, and audience members of all ages and skill levels, where as a community we can come together and make a real difference in the lives of children and their families living in extreme poverty.
Where Is Podcasters' Week?
Podcaster’s Week will be held in Guatemala. Our home base will be in the beautiful historic city of Antigua, and we will serve outlier villages that are about 30 minutes away.
Antigua, Guatemala
The historic city of Antigua will be our "home base" throughout the week - a World Heritage Site designated by UNESCO and a truly breathtakingly beautiful place. You'll see 500+ year old ruins and experience a lively and vibrant culture, nestled between three large, beautiful volcanoes.
Hotel Candelaria
You'll stay at beautiful Hotel Candelaria, decorated in 16th century Colonial architecture and manned by one of the most hospitable staffs you've ever experienced. You'll be served hot, homemade breakfasts and dinners every day and we'll meet every evening in the gathering room to discuss our daily experiences.
How Is Podcasting Built Into This Experience?
Everyone who attends Podcasters' Week will receive a copy of Shawn's acclaimed 5 Ways to Record Podcast Interviews with an iPhone eBook AND Video Guide ($150 value) so you can come prepared to capture the raw experiences of serving people who live in extreme poverty. We will also host a workshop on one of the evenings, where you will learn how to record pro, studio-sounding podcast episodes from anywhere in the world - with equipment that will fit inside your backpack!
When Is Podcasters' Week?
Podcasters' Week will be from June 23 to July 1, 2018. You'll arrive in Guatemala on Sunday afternoon, and depart the following Sunday afternoon. This time of year in Guatemala is beautiful (it's known as the 'Land of Eternal Spring' with a cool 70 degrees average temperature) and affords us the driest conditions of the year.
Who Are The Organizers?
Shawn Smith
Shawn is the Founder of TheMobilePro.net, where he trains entrepreneurs how to easily podcast from anywhere. Shawn is also Director of NowIsTheTimeForMissions.com. Since 2006, Shawn and his wife have safely hosted over 1,500 mission team members from the U.S., ages 7-77, and spend 3 months per year in Guatemala preparing for, and hosting mission teams.
John Dennis
John is the Founder of The Podcaster’s Hangout Facebook Group - one of the largest and most active online communities for podcasting enthusiasts. John is also the Founder of Vx³ Digital, a premium Digital Marketing & Advertising Agency, where him and his team architect six and seven-figure digital marketing systems for influencers, small businesses and Fortune 500 corporations.
